Every fall I start having dreams about snowboarding. It turns out all my friends do too. In Vermont we call this time of year stick season. For snowboarders it’s dream season.
Whodis?
We are Andrick and Cassidy, the two dudes who made Dream Season. Although, honestly, Andrick did 90% of the work and Cassidy mostly drank coffee and spouted nonsensical ideas. We have been shredding together , coaching snowboarding, and making shred flicks for 25 years. Over the last few seasons we had thousands of boring, repetitive conversations about how we can’t find any new shred vids that get us fired up. After years of working on the concept for Dream Season, and inspiration from some mind-altering substances, Andrick launched us full-on into making this film in 2024. Dream Season is our way of showing what we love most about snowboarding. We wanted to make people excited to go ride with their friends. We wanted to goof off at a highly professional level. We hope you like it.
About the film
Dream Season was a completely DIY project from start to finish. On the technical side, it was important that gopro, drone, and 360 camera technology has improved massively in the last two years. We committed that we were not willing to sacrifice the fun of riding in order to make this film. So that meant coordinating cameras in a way where we could all let it rip and still get the footage. This ended up creating riding sequences where you really feel the fun of it all. Andrick planned out, filmed, and edited this entire film before we had a single sponsor in place. So the folks who supported it really got to feel the spirit of the film before they got on board.
The music
A buddy rode with us for an afternoon and he said “the way you guys snowboard feels like jazz”. The music for Dream Season was a creative undertaking in itself. Andrick is a huge music nerd. He wanted to hilight a bunch of the music he listens to on the way to the mountain, some new artists, and styles of music you don’t often find in snowboarding films. You can check out all the songs from the film in the spotify playlist. Hopefully you find some new sounds that you dig.
